Misplaced Affection

I almost missed him kneeling there
His eyes pleading, hands claps about his heart
He thinks I'm beautiful and it makes me laugh
Silent but his stance says everything for him
Its unmistakable and it makes me laugh
Does he know I can't let anyone get close
Or reciprocate any love or affection
I'm insecure and essentially selfish
On his knee he not only offers, he asks
And I cannot give and am prone to flight
So I run, and find him give chase
Its frightening and it makes me laugh
